AIKIDO Seminar Spring 2022

Connection, Commitment & Confluence

1 Day    –   4 Instructors   –   2 Much Fun!

with guest instructor,
Joel NAKAMURA Sensei
from Santa Fe, New Mexico

As a teen in California, Joel NAKAMURA was a student of the renowned, Robert KOGA Sensei, a family friend.  NAKAMURA Sensei’s AIKIDO training is diverse and extensive.  Today, he is the head of KAIJU AIKIDO in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  He is recognized for his technique economy, creativity, unique JO skills, and is a favored frequent guest at Castle Rock.

Nakamura Sensei will be teaching approximately half of the total seminar time.

Ryan Goettsche Sensei

Ryan Goettsche began his study of AIKIDO in the mid 1990s.  Goettsche Sensei opened his own DOJO, called AIKIDO KOSHIN SHURI, in Colorado Springs in 2011 and quickly built it to the largest in the area. His students at the Castle Rock DOJO frequently refer to him as “The G-Force” for his seemingly effortless ability to generate tremendous power without any notion of violence or force.

Aleksey Nikolayev Sensei

Aleksey Nikolayev began training AIKIDO in 1989 at Moscow State University in Russia where he trained with AIKIKAI HONBU DOJO instructors visiting Russia on business. Upon moving to the United States, he continued training AIKIDO at Carnegie Mellon University. Like many of us nowadays, he, too, no longer cares about rank.  Aleksey’s style involves a very “sticky” MUSUBI described by students as “bewildering” to would-be attackers.

Sean Hannon Sensei

Sean Hannon has had many AIKIDO instructors in many states since the mid 1990s. He is the author of the award-winning book: Inner Bushido – Strength without Conflict and he has been DOJO-CHO of Caste Rock AIKIDO for 15 years.  His more than 12 years of IAIDO training has forged an intimate understanding of AIKIDO’s biomechanics to swordsmanship.  He is known for what he calls the “Assertion-Accommodation Dynamic.”

Yes, I’m coming! Save me a spot on the mat.
